3 months. 4549 miles by air. 2795 miles by car. 7344 miles from the best adventure of my life to the start of my senior year.

I've had a lot of people ask me why I spent this summer away from home:

"Are you running from your problems?"

"Do you hate your parents?"

"Do you really like math that much?"

"Do you enjoy living out of your car?"

And the list goes on...

It doesn't matter, though. Whatever the reasons are, were, whatever: it happened and I somehow survived it. The little time I did spend at home made me well aware that if I had spent anymore time there: I wouldn't have.

I needed this summer. I needed 3 months of healing and moving. I needed 7344 miles to remind me of who I am. I needed 7344 miles to remind me of who I can be. I needed 7344 miles to remind me of just how lucky I am.

I wanted 7344 miles for me.

So I'm going to finish packing my stuff, have a beer with my dad, curl up with my mom, and wake up tomorrow to start another amazing adventure.

I'm a senior in college?! Who would have thought...
